Ulster Rugby is currently inviting applications for the posts of Rugby Development Manager and Communications Manager (Rugby Development).

Rugby Development Manager:

Reporting to the Head of Rugby Development in Ulster Rugby, the postholder (in alignment with IRFU technical direction) is responsible for improving the quality and quantity of coaches and the game of rugby in Clubs and Schools across all stages of the LTPD programme within Ulster. They will be responsible for the operational management of the regional rugby model within Ulster, including the development of regional plans which address the strategic requirements of Ulster Rugby, the IRFU and the needs of clubs and schools within the Province.

The successful candidate will either have significant experience working in a relevant sector, or be educated to degree level coupled with lesser experience. They must have a strong technical understanding of the sport holding a minimum qualification of IRFU Level 1 (Stage 3) accredited.

We are looking for an individual who has exceptional organisational skills, the ability to critically review performance processes and deliver a quality outcome and the ability to influence others positively. You must have clarity in decision-making and well developed time management skills. Additionally the role requires frequent evening and weekend work, as well as travel throughout the Province of Ulster.

Communications Manager (Rugby Development): 

The postholder will lead on the creation, management and continual strategic development of all media, communications and digital content for the domestic game across Ulster. Reporting to the Head of Rugby Development on a day-to-day basis, but also aligned to the Communications team by functionally reporting into the Senior Communications Manager, the postholder will be required to present a positive and engaging vision of all aspects of rugby at club, school and tertiary level, enhancing the profile of the work done by Ulster Rugby as a Governing Body and in the development of the game.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with at least 2 years practical communications experience. They must also have experience of campaign planning, management and delivery, a proven track record in delivery of digital content across a variety of media formats and experience of managing relationships with external media agencies. A knowledge of the sport of Rugby Union is not essential but would be desirable.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is capable of working independently alongside a multi-disciplinary team.  You must have high attention to detail, the ability to build effective working relationship and take personal accountability. Additionally the role requires you to be flexible with working hours as regular weekend work will be required.
