Ulster Rugby welcomes confirmation from Sport NI that its Governing Body application for support of approximately £1.5m through the Sports Sustainability Fund has been successful.
Of the news, Ulster Rugby CEO, Jonny Petrie, said:
“We would like to thank the Department for Communities and Sport NI for their support in securing this Governing Body funding for Ulster Rugby through the Sports Sustainability Fund.
“In these challenging times, it is essential that we continue to work closely together – especially on the financial help that is necessary to see a return to rugby at all levels across the province.
“We are continuing to work with Sport NI to finalise the details of the final funding allocation to our clubs. We would like to thank clubs for their continued assistance and patience as we work through the process, and we are confident that this can be completed shortly.
“The Sports Sustainability Fund is a lifeline to our sport at this extremely difficult time and, as a result of the financial support that will be available through it, we can – together with our clubs – start to plan for a welcome return to sporting activity within the guidelines set out by the NI Executive.”
