Since making his senior debut against Leinster in December 2019, the 20-year-old Academy back three has made eight appearances and scored two tries this season for Ulster, but what do you know about him? Find out more below…

Tell us about your player pathway.

I started off playing rugby at Ballynahinch for most of my childhood, then went to school at Methody, so I played a lot of rugby there. I entered into the age-grade squad with Ulster before joining the Ulster Rugby Academy.

Who has been your biggest influence?

My parents. My dad played rugby and I watched him when I was younger and that’s when I started to play the game.

How have you found integrating with the senior squad?

I’ve been integrating nicely. People in your positions who are older are always talking to you and giving you advice. It’s good to learn from them. I live with Mike Lowry so it’s always easy to talk to him if I need any advice. He plays a bit in the back three as well, so he’d be a big influence and the guy I talk to the most.

Who is your best friend in the squad?

Callum Reid or David McCann, or Mike [Lowry] – just one of the guys I live with because I spend a lot of time with them.

Who is the funniest player in the squad?

On his day, Ian Madigan! He’s quite a weird guy and loves his stories. He doesn’t let the truth get in the way of a good story. He’s funny.

Cardio or weights?

Early riser or night owl?

Night owl.

Would you rather be 4’5” or 7’7”?

Would you rather live in Antarctica or the Sahara Desert?

The Sahara Desert.

Which three dinner guests would you have at your dinner party and why?

A young Mike Tyson, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ariana Grande. I love Mike Tyson and all his old fights so I think he’d be pretty cool. I’d quite like to go on a date with Ariana Grande and Ronaldo is the best footballer in the world so it would be good to see what he’s like.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I’d give some money to my parents and let them retire. I’d go on a few holidays myself; not too much.

What player would you least like to be stuck on a desert island with?

Nathan Doak. He’d be absolutely useless and would probably annoy me straight away!
