The Ulster A team, sponsored by CD Group, finished off their Cara Cup tour with a 15-43 win over hosts New England Free Jacks on Sunday night.

Ulster opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a try from Man of the Match Zack McCall. The Free Jacks slotted a penalty on 17 minutes but Ulster responded quickly with a try from Ben Power, converted by Bruce Houston. The hosts then crossed the whitewash for the first time on 26 minutes, however Power’s midfield partner Stewart Moore got touched down just before half-time to leave it 10-17 at the break.

The sides traded tries in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, with scrum-half Graham Curtis scoring for Ulster and Houston converting. The young Ulster men then went on to blitz their opponents in the final half hour, running in three more tries courtesy of Jack Owens, Charlie Clarke and Iwan Hughes, with Houston adding two more conversions.
