Ulster Rugby hosts a special needs Centra Summer Camp at Newforge Country Club each year, while many schools are also participating in disability tag rugby.

In 2012, to support the development of tag rugby for those with learning disabilities within Ulster the IRFU (Ulster Branch) established a Special Needs Tag Rugby Advisory Group (STAG) to help and advise clubs across Ulster on issues relating to tag rugby for those with learning disabilities.
The STAG group meets quarterly and membership includes one member from each of the clubs; one rep from IRFU (Ulster Branch) Domestic Game Committee; one member of staff of the IRFU (Ulster Branch). As additional teams are formed an invitation will be sent to the club inviting them to send a representative to the meeting.
