In what is traditionally the busiest time of year for schools' rugby, high schools around the province are preparing for the most prestigious event in their season: the Northern Bank Under 16 High Schools' Trophy.

Both teams had spent the weekend preparing for Sunday's game, with the Irish side training at the University of Ulster Jordanstown's 3-G facilities and the Scottish women using the facilities at Cooke RFC.
This was the final opportunity for coaches to assess players ahead of the 6 Nations tournament in February. The game was divided into two thirty minute periods, followed by a twenty minute session which gave both management teams ample opportunity to give all players a run out.
Despite the very cold conditions, both sides played open and entertaining rugby, taking every opportunity to move the ball wide and put into practice the various moves that had been worked on during the weekend's training.
At the end of the 80 minutes, Ireland had outscored their opponents by six tries to nil and were worthy of their victory at the full-time whistle. Sunday's match saw Ulster and Cooke's Eliza Downey make her debut for Ireland, playing at full-back, while former Cooke and Ulster player Amy Davis, scored two of the six tries.
The IRFU Ulster Branch would like to thank Belfast Harlequins for hosting the game and making every effort to ensure that the match went ahead despite the snow.
