Community Rugby

Ulster in the Community

Ulster Rugby is committed to working within the community to increase awareness of the game and give something back to the community in which they work. The Ulster Rugby squad are often out and about at various rugby clubs and schools taking coaching courses and offering technical tips to aspiring rugby players. The team also visit shopping centres and sports shops to meet and greet supporters.

Within this section, Ulster Rugby will publish photographs of the players out and about. If you have met members of the Ulster Rugby team at your school or rugby club or even at Ravenhill, please send us in a copy of your photographs and we will publish them here. Ulster Rugby is also highly involved in rugby development with the help of, Regional Development Officers (RDOs), Youth Development Officers (YDOs) and Community Rugby Development Officers (CRDO's). The RDOs' main roles include; working with clubs and schools by helping them with their structures to provide a platform to aid growth, these structures are then used as a basis for the CRDOs' work.

YDOs are employed to work within primary and secondary schools, to introduce and promote rugby amongst children of all ages, both males and females and create a link between clubs and schools.

In addition to its continued support for the IRFU Charitable Trust, Ulster Rugby also provides a level of support and backing to three associated Charities each season and request applications from local charity at the start of each season. Further details on Ulster Rugby's associated charities can be found in the Charities section.
