Inishowen Rugby Club in Donegal are through to the final of Kellogg's Field of Dreams competition where they can win £100,000 to makeover their pitch and facilities but they need your help...
Inishowen are representing Ulster in the "Field of Dreams" Competition and need your support to make sure they are in with a shout of winning the 100,00 euro prize to upgrade their pitch and facilities.
They're the only rugby club in the final, up against three GAA clubs from Leinster (Danesfort GAA Club), Connacht (Kilglass GAA Club) and Munster (Glengarriff GAA Club) and their pitch at Moss Road is in real need of a makeover.
Inishowen rugby club was formed in 1972 and has 139 members. The club will soon reach its 40th Birthday. Their player base is growing and interest is increasing, rendering their playing field unfit for playing. Over the past few years, the club has encouraged players, non-playing members and parents to attend courses to become qualified coaches. As a result they now have 27 qualified coaches who work with 80 to 90 boys and girls aged 6-16.
Players at the club are from all over the surrounding areas in Donegal, from Muff near the foot of the peninsula, to Malin Head in the north, Buncrana in the west and Moville in the east.
The pitch is also used by the Tag Rugby team, Inishowen Horseshoe Club, Carndonagh Boxing Club, Inishowen Athletics Club and Carndonagh Community School.
