Six schools from Northwest Donegal recently took part in a Buntus Rugby session delivered by the IRFU and Donegal Sports Partnership
Buntas Rugby is a programme developed by the IRFU and the Irish Sports Council which aims to empower teachers to coach Tag Rugby in National Schools.
Schools taking part included S.N. Ranna Feirst, Loch an Iuir N.S., Derrybeg, Scoil Mhuire, Scoil Chonaill and Scoil Adhmahain. The training involves taking teachers through the practical elements of coaching TAG rugby and aims to build confidence in delivering the non contact version of the sport through school PE lessons. Following the two hour training session, the schools are given TAG rugby equipment to bring back to their schools and use with the various classes.
