On Monday 14th December, the IRFU Ulster Branch hosted a Tag Rugby Blitz in Carndonagh CS
Two schools took part in the competition, namely St. Patrick's Boys Carndonagh and Scoil Cholmcille Greencastle, with almost 100 pupils playing tag rugby.
Although it was cold, the day was dry and allowed the teams to play open, expansive, running rugby. While all the games were very competitive and even, there were some notable individual performances from Michael Henry, Cathal McLaughlin, Pauraic Carey Doherty and Rachel Van Stiphout of Greencastle and Donal Doherty, Conor O'Donnel, Conor McDermott, Jordan Downey, Daire Porter and Ciaran Farren of St. Pat's Boys.
Staff from the IRFU would like to extend their thanks to Carndonagh Community School for the use of their playing grounds, Inishowen RFC players Shane McDermott and Paul McCarroll for their help on the day and all the teachers from the schools involved for their co-operation and commitment in chilly conditions.
