This month the Donegal Community Rugby Project is looking forward to a visit by Richard Hodges, one of the Welsh Sevens World Cup Winning coaches from 2009
Richard will be delivering a training session to all interested senior players in Donegal in preparation for the Carrick Sevens tournament to be held on the May bank holiday. The Donegal players and coaches will also have the added bonus of having Richard on the sidelines during the tournament, passing on his expertise as they take on some of the best sevens teams in Ireland and the UK.
Richard has been involved with the International sevens' team for 3 seasons and coaches at many of the sevens' series venues including Dubai, Las Vegas, Edinburgh and Hong Kong, so the experience he will bring to Donegal is of the highest level.
The training session will take place at Letterkenny RFC on Sunday the 25th April at 12noon. It is open to Under 19 boys' (1991-92) and senior men's teams (18+) wanting to find out more about the sevens game. All players attending must register with their clubs or the DCRP by emailing info@donegalcommunityrugby.com .
Interest from the clubs to date has been very promising and the session should prove to be an enjoyable venture for all the players involved, including the trip to Carrick to take part in one of the largest sevens tournaments in the Northern Hemisphere.
