A 'Club of the Year' nomination in the Magners Ulster Rugby Awards has capped a fantastic year for Grosvenor RFC
It began with some silverware on the opening day of the season when they won the Randalstown Tournament. The 1st XV then went unbeaten throughout their league and cup campaigns, winning Qualifying 3 and the Gordon West Cup.
The 2nd XV were Junior 4 Champions, suffering only one defeat and were beaten finalists in the Harden Cup while the 3rd XV finished runners-up in Minor East 2.
The Under 19 'Baby Stags' also enjoyed some success as winners of the Dromore 7s Plate and runners-up in the Carrick 7s Bowl.
The year ended with a very enjoyable tour to Edinburgh, where they cheered on an Ulster victory at Murrayfield. Club President Alan Egner said "I am delighted with our success this season. We have a very talented squad of young players who play an exciting brand of attacking rugby. We are also very fortunate to have in my view the best coaching team in Ulster junior rugby, while our hard-working committee keeps things ticking over behind the scenes. Already we are making plans for next year and are looking forward to fresh challenges in Qualifying 2 and Junior 3."
