In what is traditionally the busiest time of year for schools' rugby, high schools around the province are preparing for the most prestigious event in their season: the Northern Bank Under 16 High Schools' Trophy.

Dozens of boys and girls aged 6 13 years attended the five day camps and met Ulster Rugby stars Stephen Ferris, David Pollock and Ian Humphreys at Belfast Harlequins and Paul Marshall, Chris Cochrane and Ed ODonaghue at Banbridge while learning new skills under the supervision of qualified coaches. Participants also received a Summer Camp kit bag with T-shirt, Rugby ball and voucher to an Ulster Magners League match.
Ulster Rugby Summer Camps, sponsored by independent retail group Centra, are taking place at seventeen different province-wide locations this summer and will cater for almost 1,500 children.
This year saw the addition of two Senior Camps based at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, for 14-17 year old participants. These camps are aimed at boys and girls with previous rugby experience, and focus on the technical, tactical, physical, mental and lifestyle aspects of Rugby Union.
