Ulster Women Kick Off Season
23 August 2007, 4:17 pm
By Paula Gunn
Last Sunday saw Ulster Women’s team play their first match of the season against a combined City of Derry/ Carrickfergus team in City of Derry.
Ulster coach Nathan Moore used this game as a trial match from which to select his 32 squad for the forthcoming season.  Many changes were made throughout the game to allow the coaching staff to look at all possible combinations and to allow all players show their potential for what will be a tough season.

The girls put on a great performance winning 89-0.  However all credit must go to their opposition who fought hard against an experienced side.  This great performance by the Ulster girls has made Nathan’s job a difficult one in selecting his 22 player squad for the girls’ first match against Munster on the 8th September.
