Women's Youth League
.gif)
For the first time ever a Women's Youth League is now up and running in Ulster
10 teams have entered the competition, which has been split equally into an East and West league. Each team will have a home and away fixture with the top two from each region playing off in the semis/final in March 2008.
The league has been established thanks to the significant growth of development work in schools around the province and as a result has also led to increased club participation in the women’s game. This is the first ever U18 contact league in Ulster and the increase in youth teams from 4 last season to 10 this season has meant that the structures could be put in place to get the league up and running. It is hoped that this increase participation at youth level will help sustain and develop the club adult game in the future.
The teams competing are:
Youth League East
1. Lisburn
2. Cooke/Bangor/Carrick (Combined team)
3. Rainey
4. Ballyclare
5. Malone
Youth League West
6. Armagh
7. Enniskillen
8. City Of Derry
9. Letterkenny
10.Virginia
This league kicked off on Sunday 28th October 2007
