Women’s rugby in Ulster has been growing from strength to strength, with an increase in Adult Teams and Youth Rugby very much being the main success story. Five years ago, there was limited work being done in the schools, no youth teams and only two adult clubs in the Province. Today, we have over 40 Schools taking part in the Schools Cup, 8 Youth Teams that compete in an Ulster League, and an increase in Adult Clubs.
The Ulster Branch currently employs two dedicated full time members of staff working within the women’s game who are supported by a number of Community Rugby Development Officers, whose remit includes women’s development in their community area.
