Rugby Law of the Month

The Ulster branch website will be running a new monthly feature called Rugby Law of the month to help educate players, coaches and referees and test their knowledge of the game.  Each month a law question/game scenario will be provided along with a series of multiple-choice answers.  A poll will be taken as to which answer the Ulster Rugby public deem to be correct (click results).  The correct answer, with an explanation will be posted the following month plus the next law in our series of challenging law scenarios.

March 2008 Law of the Month
White are awarded a kick at goal (penalty/conversion). White 10 steps up to take the kick which is on the 22m line straight in front of the posts. The ball is kicked correctly with all players onside into an extremely strong headwind. The ball travels between the two uprights and over the cross bar but is then blown back over the crossbar and lands in the field of play. The referee and touch judges should.......
(a) Award the kick at goal.
(b) Disallow the kick at goal and play on
(c) Disallow the kick at goal and award a 22m drop out
(d) Allow the kick to be taken again
