Ulster Juniors Narrowly Beaten by Munster Juniors

Munster 6- 3 Ulster
Ulster Juniors travelled to Tanner Park, Cork, the home of Ballincolig RFC last Saturday to play Munster Juniors in the second round of interprovincial games and narrowly lost by 6 -3

Ulster showed considerable endeavour and played an open, attacking game only to be beaten in the last minutes by a penalty goal .The Ulster penalty was by John Semple and although Ulster pressed strongly in the final quarter, the try they deserved did not come.

All however is not lost, as the Juniors gained a valuable bonus point which means a win against Leinster this Saturday at Bangor will mean a share of the championship at least.

A number of players had an outstanding game, including James Johnston and Johnny Allen of Armagh and James Carson of Ballymoney. With the mobility of the Ulster pack overcoming a strong Munster eight, defences held the upper hand throughout.

The team for next Saturday's Final match in the Junior InterProvincial Championship against Leinster will be named on Thursday morning - whoever wins at Bangor RFC on Saturday 10th May will win the Championship Title.
