Ulster looking strong with fluid passing, continued to push Glasgow back into their own half but a defensive Glasgow unrelentingly fought back in a fight which ultimately lead to a Glasgow break away Try by Number 14 Lome Fa’atau, a conversion by Glasgow’s Dan Parks saw Warriors take the lead with the first points on the board: Glasgow 7 Ulster 0.
A penalty in-favour of Glasgow for off-side, kicked by Number 10 Dan Parks placed Glasgow Warriors 10 points clear of Ulster within the first ten minutes of the first half. Ulster on the attack fought back hard, both teams vying for possession. With a good line-out Ulster gained control, an Ulster penalty kick leading to an Ulster line-out continued to provide ground for Ulster’s attack, pushing Glasgow back to the line, a Try by Ulster's Issac Boss was the result, with 23 minutes gone and a conversion by Number 10 Paddy Wallace put Ulster firmly on the score sheet: Glasgow 10 Ulster 7.
Strong play by both sides persisted with possession of the ball constantly changing, then a mighty push by Ulster let loose Number 8 Roger Wilson which saw another Try within five minutes of Ulster’s last Try. Paddy Wallace kicked for the conversion but it’d convert the Try, the score stood Ulster 12 Glasgow 10.
Two Glasgow line-outs saw Number 8 Johnnie Beattie run over the line for another Warriors Try with 12 minutes to go in the first half, with a missed conversion by Dan Parks the score board was now: Glasgow 15 Ulster 12.
An Ulster line-out provided ground for Ulster, who fought back hard against Glasgow, but a defensive Glasgow struggled back and moved into Ulster’s half with 5 minutes of the first half remaining, but a penalty kick by Ulster’s Paddy Wallace put the ball out of the danger zone, a 40th minute scrum give Ulster back control, who fought hard for a Try but Glasgow presented a forceful defence which in-turn gained them a penalty kick out of trouble. The first half came to a close with the score board Glasgow 15 Ulster 12.
The second half kicked off with both sides looking tough and grappling for control, an attacking Glasgow saw their Number 13 Max Evans, make his first Try of the night within the first 3 minutes of the second half which was then converted by Dan Parks to make the score Glasgow 22 Ulster 12.
With 34 minutes of the second half gone, a struggle saw Ulster’s Rory Best and Carlo Del Fava needing medical attention, Del Fava had to be benched and was replaced by Ulster’s Number 18 Ryan Caldwell.
Glasgow attacked well pushing Ulster into dangerous territory, Ulster’s defence kicked the ball into Glasgow’s half. An Ulster line-out gave them back possession and saw them attack Glasgow pushing hard into the sides half. In a game which saw possession and control constantly changing, a scrum saw Glasgow take control, then Ulster’s Tommy Bowe’s run brought the ball back into Ulster’s control.
Ulster continued to push into Glasgow’s half and a Paddy Wallace kick and Ulster line-out saw the side push Glasgow all the way to the line, and saw Glasgow’s Number 3 Low, receive a yellow card. Ulster fought hard for the Try and a scrum 19 minutes into the second half allowed Ulster’s Number 11 Danielli a Try with Paddy Wallace once again lining up for the conversion, which was just out of reach, leaving just five points in it: Glasgow 22 Ulster 17.
Then Ulster’s Tommy Bowe broke away for another Try within 2 minutes of Danielli’s and a conversion from Paddy Wallace saw Ulster take the lead: Ulster 24 Glasgow 22.
A penalty by Glasgow’s Dan Parks once again put Glasgow ahead by one point: Glasgow 25 Ulster 24. Breaks by Ulster’s Trimble and Harrison were met by Glasgow’s defence but Ulster continued to push hard and fight for another Try on Glasgow’s line. An Ulster line-out and scrum left both teams struggle for possession, but Glasgow proved to be the stronger of the two and a Try by Number 11 Thomas Evans was the result and was converted by Glasgow’s Dan Parks. This saw Glasgow ahead by 8 points: Glasgow 32 Ulster 24.
Glasgow continued to push into the Ulster’s defence, but received another yellow card for Number 7 Barclay. Then Bank of Ireland man of the match, Glasgow’s Dan Parks kicked a penalty which left the score board: Glasgow 35 Ulster 24.
Ulster fought back hard to the end and in the final minutes of full-time saw the team within distance of the Glasgow line. A line-out and scrum saw Ulster fight for another Try but the Glasgow defence took control and kicked the ball out of harm’s way. The final whistle, with five minutes of extra time played, left the score board Glasgow 35 Ulster 24.
