| Ulster showed first-half promise but they gifted tries to Tony Buckley and Mick O'Driscoll as Munster led 14-6.
The visitors failed to add to Niall O'Connor's two first-half penalties as Munster notched four further tries.
Ronan O'Gara scored after an Ulster line out and Tomas O'Leary, James Coughlan and ex-All Black Doug Howlett added further tries. Ulster struggled to get line out ball and were dominated by a physical Munster pack.
The bonus-point win still leaves Munster 11 points behind Leinster but Declan Kidney's side have a game in hand and they also have still to play the Irish rivals next month.
Matt Williams said this tonight after his side were defeated in Cork,"Our away games this season are about giving the younger players an opportunity to play in this environment; we need to blood the younger guys in tough environments. Tonight we missed tackles and lost line out ball and when you put that together it is just a lethal combination and that is what happened out there. In the last two games at Ravenhill we missed a total of 8 or 9 tackles, we missed 28 tonight, and you just can't do that"
When asked what positives Ulster could take from tonight's game Williams had this to say,
"It was very good experience for guys like Niall O'Connor, Paul Marshall and David Pollock, tonight they were playing against a team with All Blacks and lots of Irish Internationals in a ferocious environment. Young players won't get better if you don't pick them and our away games are about giving those guys that experience and then we must make sure we pick up the points at our home games"
