Just two minutes later Gloucester touched down again with English centre Mike Tindall getting his name on the score sheet, Lamb was unable to convert but minutes later touched down himself and successfully converted to extend the visiting side’s lead after 17 minutes to Gloucester 17 v Ulster 0.
A further try from Gloucester right winger Simpson-Daniel saw the “ Cherry and Whites” earn their bonus point within the first half hour of play with Iain Balshaw touching down for a fifth within minutes and Lamb converting. Ulster 0 v Gloucester 28.
Ulster began a aggressive comeback creating more scoring opportunities with Matt McCullough touching down for Ulster following an impressive break from Andrew Trimble and again in the closing minutes of the first half as Paddy Wallace broke through the Gloucester defense for Ulster’s second try.
Both were converted by Wallace to bring the score to Ulster 14 v Gloucester 29 at half- time.
Both teams ran out after half time but were locked into a stalemate throughout the second half. Gloucester extended their lead as Lamb, who was named as the Heineken Man of the Match, slotted a Gloucester penalty in the 67th minute to bring the final score to Ulster 14 v Gloucester 32.
