Glasgow harried Ulster in the early stages of the match until, totally against the run of play, Rory Best touched down on 15 minutes after a superb Paddy Wallace break. The out-half, playing in his preferred position following injury to David Humphreys last week against Leinster, cut through the Glasgow defence and just as he was tackled by Glasgow scrum-half Beveridge, passed to Best who was in support. Wallace converted to give Ulster a 7-0 lead.
The try seemed to settle Ulster who looked much improved from the opening skirmishes but Glasgow continued to pressure and in a fairly lively first half their best opportunity to score came on 37 minutes when winger Thom Evans chased the ball all the way to the line from a Dan Parks punt - Paddy Wallace recovered the ball and made it safe, and a Glasgow infringement in the resulting scrum eased the pressure on the visitors.
The crowd thought Tommy Bowe was in for Ulster's second try on 41 mins but the referee pulled the visitors up on Matt McCullough's forward pass to the winger.

Glasgow opened the second half with a penalty after Ulster were offside, and Dan Parks first kick at goal was a successful one. Glasgow 3 - 7 Ulster.
Ulster stretched their lead on 59 minutes when Neil Best crossed the whitewash. Glasgow had been penalised for crossing on their 5m line and the try came after a catch and drive from the lineout. Wallace was unable to convert. Glasgow 3 - 12 Ulster.
With a bit of momentum built up, Tommy Bowe strode over the line for Ulster's third try on 62 minutes. Paul McKenzie made the break out of defence and Paddy Wallace left the Glasgow players in his tracks before off-loading to full back Mark Bartholomeusz who gave a great pass to Bowe on the wing who finished the move off. Wallace added the extras from the conversion. Glasgow 3 -19 Ulster.
Ulster looked close to getting the 4th try and bonus point on a number of occassions in the second half, but it was Glasgow who got the last word, when after some good Ulster pressure on their line, they turned it around and eventually No8 Newman drove over the line in the top corner.
Final Score: Glasgow 8 - 19 Ulster.
Ulster Coach Mark McCall was "absolutely delighted" to get the win, "Glasgow haven't lost a game here in a long time and this is a good victory for us". "We are disappointed that we didn't get the 4th try in the end but there were some encouraging signs tonight that we're back to our best".
Paddy Wallace, Man of the Match said "It was great to get the win for the travelling fans, there are plenty of then here tonight and it is nice to do it for them."
