| Rugby Development Officer (RDO) Job Summary
The main role of the Regional Development Officer (RDO) is to promote and develop rugby in their region. There are three RDO's working in Ulster. They work in three strips across the province; the North/North West, Mid Ulster and South Ulster and the border counties. Their main roles include working with clubs and schools by helping them with their structures to provide a platform to aid growth. The areas focused on are Coach Education, Associate/Referee recruitment and adult/youth/women’s teams. Another major role is player screening and development for the various representative teams in both schools and youth rugby at County, U18 and U19 level. However, day-to-day work includes club/school visits, replying to various requests from the rugby public and taking sessions up and down the country to assist players and coaches alike.
