Nathan started playing rugby in P5 for Downey House and has been hooked on the sport ever since. He played for Methodist College Belfast but suffered a serious knee injury at the end of upper sixth year, which resulted in him getting involved in coaching when he returned to school. He has since been rehabilitating and has coached various teams. He is currently back playing for Belfast Harlequins and has made an appearance for the 2nd XV. Nathan thoroughly enjoys his job as Women’s Youth Development Officer as it allows him to take sessions with groups who have never seen or played with a rugby ball, and teach them to play a proper game of Tag or Leprechaun rugby. He finds it very rewarding to see so many girls go onto club rugby and pursue the game.
