Benjy got involved in rugby through Eastwood Primary School in Pietermaritzburg when he was nine years old.  He has played representative rugby for Natal U21, Natal Sharks ‘A Team’ and South Africa U21 Development Squad.  What Benjy enjoys most about his job is being able to work outside and putting smiles on children’s faces through sport.  As a CRDO, he thinks that it is very important to have someone on the ground working in communities, schools and rugby clubs to help develop the game and to be that important link to Ulster Rugby and the IRFU.
