David Boyd - Provincial Domestic Games Manager
David joined the ranks of the IRFU (Ulster Branch) in 2001 in the role of Club Rugby Development Manager. This new role had been created as a result of the findings of Review of Club Rugby in Ulster (The Jackson Report) which reported in 2000. In 2003 the IRFU followed the Ulster lead and appointed Club Development Managers in all Provinces and David moved to a new role of Domestic Rugby Manager assuming greater responsibility for the day to day running of the Domestic Department. His current position as Provincial Domestic Game Manager was an appointment made by the IRFU in September 2006 following the empowerment by the IRFU to Branches of a range of responsibilities formerly controlled from Dublin.
His personal rugby experiences as a player and administrator where enjoyed at Belfast YMCA, CIYMS and Ballyclare where both of his sons have also played.
Away from rugby (rarely according to his wife) David enjoys spending time in his retreat on the north coast and lists as his interests family, walking, travelling and watching most sports.
