Neil McMillan was educated at Belfast Royal Academy and joined Ulster Rugby at the start of the 2001-02 season, making his debut against Llanelli Scarlets and has represented Ireland at Schools, U19, U21, Sevens and A level.
After a frustrating time with a series of injuries in the 2003-04 season, Neil was back in action in the early part of 2004-05, representing Ireland in a number of Rugby World Cup Sevens Qualifying Tournaments summer, and playing for Ulster until an injury sustained in a pre-season friendly resulted in him needing reconstructive surgery on his knee ligaments.
Neil made a successful return to rugby at the start of the 2005-06 season, his work-rate around the pitch and tackle count are outstanding and his all-action style of play is well-suited to Ulster’s game-plan.
Neil was capped 3 times in the 2005-06 season for Ireland A as part of the squad that participated in the Churchill Cup in the USA and Canada.
Throughout the 2006/07 Neil won 15 caps and although used as a substitute in some of these is regarded as one of the best flankers in the Magners League and continues to be a crowed favourite at Ravenhill.
