An extremely strong and physical player, Rory, who made his Ulster debut in the 2004-05 season coming on as a replacement at home to Munster in the Celtic League, is highly regarded by his team mates and opposition alike.
Brother of Ulster Prop Simon, Rory was educated at Portadown College and is a member of the Belfast Harlequins club.
Rory made his Ireland debut against the All-Blacks at Lansdowne Road in November 2005.
Throughout the 2006/07 season he continued his fine Irish form, playing in the Autumn Internationals. He represented Ireland in every Six Nations Match and scored a remarkable try against Wales in the opening minutes at the Millennium stadium.
Rory’s dedication was acknowledged last season winning the Guinness Ulster Rugby Personality of the Year. Still a youngster at 24 Rory has fast become the cornerstone of a young Ulster pack.
Rory has also been named as the Ulster Captain for 2007-08.
