| The camps, sponsored by retail group, Centra are for boys and girls aged 6-13 years and will take place at 20 venues throughout the province between June and August. The camps are a fantastic opportunity for boys and girls to experience rugby during the summer holidays, and the emphasis is on skill development and teaching the game of Rugby to all children, regardless of age, sex, and size. With a small coach-to-child ratio, children will benefit from the experience and knowledge of our IRFU accredited coaches.
Ulster Rugby Summer Camps are also an opportunity for young people to make new friends in a fun and safe environment, as well as meeting their rugby heroes. Members of the Ulster Rugby squad will be visiting the camps each week and will talk to the children about rugby during a question and answer session, thus giving them the chance to hear about life as a professional rugby player. Players will also be available for pictures with the children and to sign autographs.
As well as Centra’s sponsorship, Ulster Rugby’s new official kit supplier, Kukri will be providing a branded gear pack for every child at this year’s Summer Camps. These packs will include the following items:
- Back Pack
- T-Shirt
- Baseball Cap
- Water Bottle
- Mouth Guard
- Autographed Rugby Ball
Summer Camp organisers are keen to encourage parents wishing to register their child for a place at Summer Camps to do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as places are filling up fast. With just over 3 weeks to go until the first camps at Belfast Harlequins and Banbridge, there are still places remaining, but prompt application is advised.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Ulster Rugby website, or obtained from Ulster Rugby offices. Alternatively, they can be picked up at Centra stores province wide. Application forms should be filled in and returned to Ravenhill, along with payment of £75 (or €110).
