| After last years disappointment the Mount Lourdes girls really wanted to improve and build on their efforts for the competition this year. Last year the girls were beaten in the Western Final in extra time by a very strong team and learnt a lot from it. Now they have returned to the competition with a renewed effort and poise. Reaching the Ulster Final was their target, one which they have reached.
When the final whistle blew the girls were astounded with a sense of disbelief. It was a stern task to overcome the Foyle girls who won last year, yet, a task which they completed.
“Last year we were gutted not to reach the final. This year I am delighted we’ve got this far. We realised it was going to be a tough feat but we were confident we had the ability. When the game ended we were ecstatic as we knew that we had performed to our best ability, most importantly as a team.”
Now the girls hope that they can exhibit some of the skills they learnt over the past year into a good performance in the final. They understand that the final will be another tough test for them, but hopefully their experience from last year and their countless sessions with their Rugby Development Officer Rob Watson, will all play a part in their bid for Ulster Girl’s School Cup Champions.
