With David Humphreys named at fly half for this friendly fixture all eyes will be on the Irish legend who has been battling with an ankle injury for most of this season.
The backline of Cunningham, McCrea and McKenzie will no doubt strike fear into the hearts of the Connacht A players who will travel from Galway this morning. The exciting mid field partnership of Scottish International Rob Dewey and Irish U 20s star Darren Cave will be an interesting watch for all those supporters who head along to the game which kicks off at 5pm today.
Ulster A Manager Gary Longwell said this of the fixture today, “With the obvious rivalry between the provinces and the fact that Connacht are trying to secure their place in Heineken Cup Rugby above Ulster next season, the Ulster players are keen to lay down a marker with the A side.”
“It is really great that Darren and Chris who both signed their full professional contracts last week are both being given starting places, this will give both players a chance to show what they are capable of in a competitive fixture. It is also a good opportunity for Roger Wilson to force his way back into the starting team.”
“This Connacht A side have been strong all season and beat a good Leinster A side earlier in the season, there is no doubt that under the guidance of Michael and Eric at the Sportsground that this Connacht A side will be a formidable opponent this evening in Enniskillen”

Connacht A Team News
Nine Galwegians are named in the starting line up as the AIB League semi finalists get some game time in ahead of their match against Shannon on Saturday. Peter Durcan starts at full back, with Tim Donnelly named at number ten. He is joined at half back by Robbie Shaw, while Liam Bibo is named on the right wing with either Darren Yapp or Daniel Riordan named on the left, injury depending.
The centre partnership of Keith Mathews and Connemara's Troy Nathan looks very exciting on paper, but they'll have their work cut our for them in midfield facing Scotland's Rob Dewey and former Ireland U-20 international, Darren Cave of Ulster
In the forwards, there is an all Galwegian front five, with former Ireland A loosehead prop John Lyne being joined by former Ireland underage internationals Joe Merrigan and Ronan Loughney. In the second row Joe Moran and Andrew Browne start while in the backrow, David Gannon starts at number eight, with Colm Rigney playing blindside flanker and Liam Casserly playing openside.
Among the replacements, Ireland U-19 internationals, John O'Brien and Dermot Murphy are included for the first time along with Buccaneers Alan Gaughan and Connacht's record try scorer Conor McPhillips. Connacht have also selected two props, in Kevin Moran and Brian McGovern and the replacement hooker is Conor Muldoon.
