Ulster Coach Matt Williams has spoken out about the benefits he feels former Ireland International Reggie Corrigan can bring to the team as scrum consultant.
Corrigan took his first session with the squad yesterday working on various aspects of scrummaging with the squad. Corrgian worked through foot placement and hit angles on both opposition and their own ball.

Head Coach Matt Williams said of the new addition to the management team,

"I have known Reggie a long time and he was coached by Roly Meates, who I brought back into Irish rugby when I was at Leinster," said Matt Williams of the former Leinster player.

"We also had a pretty good brains trust there with Paul Wallace and Shane Byrne.

"Reggie has spoken to me a lot about being involved in coaching. It is okay having the knowledge but you have to have the desire to do it and take the slings and arrows that come with it."

"When I came here, I spoke to Steve Williams and I spoke to the players and there was an agreement that we needed a scrum coach. We think we have the basis for a good scrum but we are not getting 100 percent out of it."

"It was a matter then of just talking to Reggie and seeing if he could do it and the Ulster Branch have been great in helping sort it out."
