"Training last week was very thorough, we got through a lot of different workshops which broke down the various elements of the game and built from the ground up, so that was good. We are all reading off the same page and organising our principles for play going into the tail end of season. We managed to get through a good volume of work over the course of the week and it was new, exciting and very thorough.
We had more squad meetings than we have been having which was good, within the space of a week there is only a certain amount of time you can be actually be doing pitch work without the risk of fatigue and injury coming into play, so a proportion of our time was used up constructively with meetings which meant we could talk through things and get everything organised off the pitch so that when we went onto the pitch we could be that bit more precise.
After training last week things have been a little less intense this week, obviously we have a big match on Friday so a lot of the work and foundations were laid last week, whereas, this week has been totally focused on match preparation and getting organised and tapering down so that we are in the best nick possible to perform on Friday night.
We had Reggie Corrigan in with us today taking a scrum clinic, which was obviously good to get a different voice and Reggie is a very experienced international and was a very successful player. He had some very valid points and we had a very productive session today
Looking ahead to the Dragons game we know that they are a good side with some very talented players i.e.: Charivs, Owen and Sweeney. They are a talented bunch and have had some good results this year so we are taking nothing for granted going into the game.
We are looking to build on the work we have done over the last while and build on the two really positive performances that we feel we had against Bourgoin and Gloucester, and we want to build on that and put in a good performance on Friday night
The Support we have at Ravenhill can never be underplayed, it’s a massive plus for us to have such passionate and vocal support at Ravenhill and that is part of the recipe that has made and does make Ravenhill such an intimidating place for opposition teams to come and play.
The players really really look forward to that noise and atmosphere and we are hoping can produce a performance that is worthy of that support."
