Ulster Youth go into their Inter Provincial Semi- final match against Connaught, with every chance of progressing to the final in Mullingar the following week. After a series of round robin matches played in October, Connaught finished first, with Ulster in 4^th position. However, Ulster were very competitive in all matches, and with a little luck would have won against both Leinster and Munster. In the match against Connaught, Ulster narrowly lost by 22-28.

With good preparation in recent weeks, including a very competitive match against Glasgow and District last Saturday; the teams, if at their best, are capable of causing an upset.
