Following the snowfall last night the decision on whether or not tonight's Ulster v Munster fixture is to be played from a pitch/player safety point of view is made by the referee. Alain Rolland is expected in Belfast this afternoon and we will also carry out a pitch inspection at 1pm. However, a final decision may not be made until around 3.30pm this afternoon.
From a health and safety point of view, Ulster Rugby will make to call on whether or not the game will be played. The grounds staff will be undertaking some clearing work with the tractor this morning and we have contracted a company to grit to promenade, terrace and concourse area of the ground later today.
We anticipate that the phone lines will be inundated with queries and would advise supporters with tickets to check the website first for more details as phone lines are likely to be engaged. With the Munster team already in Belfast, having arrived yesterday, we will be doing everything in our power to ensure that the game can safely go ahead.
www.ulsterrugby.com will be updated first with any news so keep checking for more information.
