Southern Regional College (Armagh) And Belfast Metropolitan College Crowned Winners of the 2007 College 7's

The Ulster Branch College 7’s took place this week with two regional events at Ballyclare RFC and Armagh RFC.

At Armagh, Abbey Christian Brothers Grammer, St Colmans Newry, South West College (Omagh) & Southern Regional College (Armagh) battled it out while over at Ballyclare, South East Regional College (Lisburn), Northern Regional College (Newtownabbey A & B teams), Northern Regional College (Coleraine & Ballymoney) and Belfast Metropolitan College competed for the winning spot.

The results from the day were as follows:

Armagh RFC
St Colmans beat South West College (Omagh) 5-0
Southern Regional College (Armagh) beat Abbey Christian Brothers 17-12
Abbey Christian Brothers beat South West College (Omagh) 19-5
Southern Regional College (Armagh) beat St Colmans 24-0
Southern Regional College (Armagh) beat South West College (Omagh) 12-5
St Colmans beat Abbey Christian Brothers 10-0

In the semi finals Southern Regional College (Armagh) beat South West College (Omagh) 24-0 and St Colmans beat Abbey Christian Brothers 5-0

In the Final Southern Regional College (Armagh) beat St Colmans 19-7.

Belfast Metropolitan were overall winners from the Ballyclare competition

Despite the miserable weather the College 7's proved a very sucessful and enjoyable event for all involved and the attention now moves towards the College 10's competition which is due to take place on Wednesday 5th December at Shaws Bridge. The Ulster Branch would like to thank all the teams for coming along to Armagh and Ballyclare for the competition and to both rugby clubs for the use of their facilities.
