| The tackling was ferocious from the start and both packs tried to assert their dominance. There was some good handling from both back lines but it was Rainey who broke the stalemate with a well taken try by scrum-half Leola McErlane which was converted by Rachel Lennox. Two more tries followed from Shaunagh Devlin and Danica Johnston and both were converted by Rachel Lennox to leave the score 0-21 at the break. Special mention should go to the Malone number 8 who had some good attacking runs but sadly had to be stretchered off with a dislocated knee. Everyone wishes her a speedy recovery.

The second half was again competitive and the Malone girls put up a spirited performance but the experience of the Rainey team shone through and further tries came from Shaunagh Devlin, Leola McErlane, Rachel Lennox, Hannah Farley and Catherina Brennan. Rachel Lennox finished the day with a tally of 21 points, having converted all eight tries. Malone scored a penalty and were very unlucky not to get a try when their out half was bundled in to touch close to the line.
All in all it was a good afternoon of rugby and thanks must go to Alan Ward for refereeing the game.
