David, who is a relatively new recruit to the Ulster XV beat fellow team mates Tommy Bowe, Ryan Caldwell, Justin Fitzpatrick and Academy player Niall O'Connor to top the poll.

With over 400 votes cast, David was the match favourite of over 25% of the supporters who voted- although it was a tight race with Niall and Justin both leading the race at times.

The 20 year old is living up to the high hopes many have held for him as a professional player following impressive displays captaining both the Ireland U19 and U21 sides. David, a former member of the Ulster Academy also captained the Ireland U20s side to an unprecedented Grand Slam and Six Nations Championship double this year and is continuing to be an exciting prospect for the coming season.
