Ulster will come up against current Magners League winners Ospreys as well as top of the English Premiership side Gloucester and Bourgoin who were 6th in their domestic league last season. Ulster are playing Gloucester in a pre season friendly at Ravenhill on the 8th September, this fixture will now have an extra bite.
Mark McCall gave his immediate reaction to http://www.ulsterrugby.com/ and said the following on our opponents:
Ospreys
" Of all the teams in our pool we know the Ospreys the best having competed against them in the Magners League numerous times, they have a formidable squad and of course as the reigning Magners League winners we will be expecting a hard couple of games against them"
Gloucester
"Gloucester finished top of the Guinness Premiership league last season, they have recruited heavily over the summer and again will be a tough opposition.
Bourgoin
"Having been drawn against Stade, Toulouse and Biarritz in recent years I am pleased to come up against a new and difficult opposition. One of our new players Carlo Del Fava has just left Bourgoin and he will prove invaluable as he will be able to give us an insight into the club and their style of play"
" As anticipated we have a challenging pool in the tournament this year, every match will be tough but this is a group I firmly believe we can get out of"
