| Chile attend the Carrick Dinner
Chile players and management visited the Titanic Exhibition and toured Belfast City Hall on Saturday (14th April) where they were invited to sign the visitor’s book, having taken in the sights and sounds of the Titanic Exhibition and the architecture of Belfast City Hall.
Later that day coach Rodrigo Boye and captain Benjamin Del Solar were guests of honour at Carrickfergus RFC for their traditional end of season club dinner.
They were invited by Chile Team Liaison Officer Jimmy McTeggart, who is a former club captain and past President of the Woodlawn Club.
Wales watch the McCrea Cup Final
On Saturday, fresh from qualifying for the semi finals, Wales went to Shaw’s Bridge to watch the McCrea Cup final, which Cooke RFC won after beating Instonians 2nd XV 52-13.
Romania test the waters with the RNLI
Romania are invited to test the waters on Sunday (15th April) when they went out on the water with the Royal National Lifeboat Institute based at Donaghadee. The players saw first hand what the RNLI go through when they ride out on their Saxon Lifeboat.
After returning to dry land the players went to Donaghadee RFC to help coach the players in the mini section of the club.
Earlier in the week pupils of Tyrella Primary School welcomed Romania when they called in to pass on some tips. The pupils also received some goodies from the players.
Tonga visit Ballymena RFC
Tonga players are at Ballymena RFC for the senior team’s finals day on Saturday where they will be joining the club in their end of season celebrations.
Earlier in the week the squad were at RAF Aldergrove using their gym and pool facilities. Tonga also met and exchanged gifts with the officers based there.
