Ireland may be relying on their own Blarney Army to inspire them into the semi finals of IRB Under 19 World Championship 2007, but they are not the only one of the 24 teams involved in the tournament to have captured the imagination of the local community.
Another are Division B side Chile, who now have their very own army – the so called Los Condores Blarney Army – of dedicated supporters cheering them on and sporting their national flag on the sidelines with a mix of parents, relatives and local students.
The core of this support are students from Belfast High School, where Chile’s training base is located for the duration of the tournament, although it also includes Chileans living in Bangor and Larne.
The support though is not just confined to their matches as the Belfast High School students are there in force to cheer Chile’s training sessions as well.
