U19 WC Legacy: Community Update

The U19 RWC Teams have been kept busy off the pitch over the past few days with a number of community visits taking place as part of the ongoing U19 RWC Legacy Programme.
Tonga
The Tonga U19 National Team made a visit to Wellington College recently to pass on their expertise to a group of lucky pupils.  During the visit the team handed out some IRB goodies.

Romania
The pupils of Tyrella Primary School were delighted to welcome the Romania U19 National Team when they called in earlier this week.  They also received some IRB goodies from the players.

French Coaching Clinic
The coaches of the French National U19 Team recently ran a coaching clinic at Ballyclare RFC for their U18 and 1st XV teams.  Sebastiane, Jean Marc and Jean Luc ran the session, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the players.  A great night was had all round and the French coaches were impressed by the club, it's history and the Guinness!!

Marin Highlanders Tour
The Marin Highlanders are a visiting team from California who are undertaking a weeklong tour (7-14th April) of Northern Ireland to tie in with the Under 19 World Championship. The group is made up of 33 players and 6 management, plus a number of parents who have come along to support the team.  They are playing 3 games in 7 days - Monday 9th is against Malone; Wed 11th is against Portadown and Friday 13th is against Armagh.  The game in Portadown also ties in with a visit by the New Zealand squad to coach local schools and club players. While the team is here they are going to lend their support to the USA Under 19 team in their games against Romania and Zimbabwe. As well as taking in the rugby the squad also have an extensive tour programme taking in the various sites of Northern Ireland including visits to:

- Giants Causeway
- Titanic and Stormont Tour
- Mayoral reception at Bangor Town Hall
