City of Derry RFC is set to launch the North West’s first ever Women’s Rugby team. Read on for details.
Women’s Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the world with its combination of speed, skill, strength and determination proving a big hit with Women everywhere. Women’s Rugby in Ireland and Ulster is on the up, with 5 teams from Ulster already competing in the All Ireland League competitions. There are also 8 clubs with underage Women’s Rugby sections. There are currently 3 All Ireland League Divisions with the 3rd Division being a development league for the up and coming teams.

Initially the club plans to hold training on Monday nights at 7pm and a friendly fixture will then be arranged before the end of the season. It is then hoped to enter a team into AIL 3 at the beginning of next season.

If you would like to get fit, try a new exciting sport or just have a bit of fun come along to City of Derry RFC on Monday 12th March at 7pm.
