Clogher Valley Area Tag Blitz
2 March 2007, 2:09 pm
By Paula Gunn
The Clogher Valley Area Tag Blitz took place on Tuesday 27th February at Clogher Valley RFC.
Despite a wet start the blitz got underway in good spirits and the 8 schools competing thoroughly enjoyed the day, as did the parents and teachers who are already looking forward to next year.  Augher PS, St Brigids PS Augher, Clogher PS, Carntall PS, Fivemiletown PS, St Mary's PS Fivemiletown, Aughnacloy PS and Aughnacloy St Mary's PS all took part in the competition, with most schools fielding an A and B team.

Aughnacloy St Marys A won a very hard fought final against Fivemiletown Primary winning 5 trys to 3. The other semi finalists were Aughnacloy St Marys B, Augher primary and Clogher Regional Primary.

The interest in tag rugby in the local area as been overwhelming with many other rural schools looking to take part. The top four schools from the blitz now progress to the Omagh 'Tag Extravaganza' on the 20th March.
