| Out-half Andrew Dunne opened the score for the visitors with a penalty after 11 minutes before a beautiful skipped by his opposite number Adam Larkin found Paul McKenzie in the corner who touched down.
Larkin missed the conversion but made amends in the 29th minute when he kicked the points after Declan Fitzpatrick powered over from close range.
That made the score 12-3, but impressive wing forward Niall Ronan's quick tap penalty found a gap and he barrelled over on the stroke of half time, with Dunne slotting home the easiest of kicks, to reduce the deficit to 12-10 at the interval.
Both sides made a raft of replacements in the second half but it was hooker Paul Shields who struck with a try after 42 minutes. Larkin again converted and the Blues appeared to be staring down the barrel. But credit to Colin McEntee's side who fought hard and it came as little surprise when Harry Vermaas barged over for a well worked try.
Dunne added the points and with four points in it Leinster looked liked fighting back but a Larkin try in the 71st minute put a serious dent in Leinster's assault.
Adam Byrnes crashed over with moments remaining but a Paul Marshall try in the last minute of play sealed Leinster's fate.
The Ulster try scorers were Adam Larkin, Paul McKenzie, Declan Fitzpatrick, Paul Shields and Paul Marshall, with Larkin converting two.
Niall Ronan, Harry Vermaas and Adam Byrnes secured touchdowns for Leinster while Andy Dunne added a penalty and two conversions.
