Ravenhill has played host to some thrilling action in its long history and rugby is not the only sport that has been played on the hallowed turf! Read on for more information.
Ravenhill has played host to some thrilling action. French heavyweights Stade Francais and Toulouse beaten on Ulster’s way to European Cup success in 1999, the demolition of Toulouse on that famous October afternoon and when Meatloaf rocker Ravenhill.

A long time ago before this, the ground played host to an American football match. In 1943, American troops contested against each other, to a packed crowd. As Lansdowne Road closes, the ground boasted a great deal of history that will be remembered, even when the new stadium is built. After 63 years, it would be interesting to know the exact history of this event and the picture. Does anyone remember the event? Was this the first non-rugby event staged at Ravenhill?

If you can help to piece together some local history, please get in touch with Ulster Rugby and be able to shed some light when a different type of oval ball was used at the ground.
