New Referee Appointment and Notification System

As you may be aware we will be introducing a new Internet based Referee Appointment and Notification System with effect from the start of next season.

The new system will replace the present system, which is dependant on the slow and expensive postal service. It will notify you of your appointment by means of a combination of email, SMS message or by post.

In essence if you can access the web and have an email address and a mobile phone your notification of appointment will be sent by both of these means. If however you are not contactable by email but do have a mobile phone then you will receive an SMS message backed up by the normal postal system.

The system has already been tested by a number of referees and USRFR Officers and the general reaction has been favourable.

Can you please contact me to receive your username and password as soon as possible to allow you to log on to this new system.

You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the system during the summer and to refer any queries to Jill.

System Usage

If your method of notification is email then please read the instructions below.

You will receive an email notifying you that you have been selected for a fixture; the email will contain information about the fixture and ask for your response.

If you can receive SMS messages you will also receive a text message.

You must then log into your personal control panel to accept or decline the fixture. To do this, open your web browser and at the address bar and type in http://referees.ulsterrugby.com/login.php This is a temporary address for usage during the pilot scheme.

Enter your username and password (we will have supplied this to you over the phone) to login. As this will be the first time you have logged in, a one-time screen will be shown asking you to fill in all your personal details. We will need these details to contact you. Once you have filled in your details you can proceed to your personal control panel.

At your control panel you can    - Respond to any notifications received
                                                   - View fixtures you’ve accepted
                                                   - View your assessments
                                                   - Add an exemption
                                                   - Edit your details
                                                   - Send a match report form
                                                   - Send internal messages
