The South African press today reported that Cape-Town based Super 14 outfit The Stormers had made a bid to sign Ulster out-half David Humphreys for this season's Super 14 competition.

However, Ulster Rugby Chief Executive Michael Reid has reported that "no approach has been made by any Super 14 club with regard to David Humphreys." "David is under contract with Ulster Rugby until 1st June 2006 and is currently in negotiations with us with a view to a new deal".
