| With eight Ulster players yesterday named in Eddie O’Sullivan’s Irish Squad of 24 ahead of the first Autumn International against the All Blacks next weekend, Mark McCall’s Ulster line-up for Friday night’s showdown at Ravenhill shows the same number of changes from that which took the field against Biarritz last weekend.
Among the backs, Paul Steinmetz, making his first start for Ulster since breaking his jaw, moves from the bench to partner Kevin Maggs in the centre in place of Andrew Trimble. Winger Andrew Maxwell is recalled to the starting line-up in the absence of Tommy Bowe while Paddy Wallace and Isaac Boss, who has recovered from a calf injury, form the half-back partnership.
In the forwards, Nigel Brady and Bryan Young link up with Justin Fitzpatrick in the front row in place of the Best brothers while Ryan Caldwell earns a start in place of Matt McCullough and Campbell Feather is promoted in place of Neil Best.
Ulster are currently in 2nd place in the Celtic League table and will hope to continue their good form in the competition ahead of the break for the Autum Internationals.
Tickets for the match are still available.
