Ulster To Take On The Bulls
19 January 2005, 11:56 am
By Lyndsey Irwin
Fans will get an unexpected bonus this Feburary with the news that Ulster Rugby will play a glamour friendly against South African Super 12 side, The Bulls, under the Ravenhill floodlights on Friday 11th February (kick off 7.30pm).

The Bulls are based in Pretoria and finished 6th in the Super 12 table at the end of their 2004 season.
They have just announced their preliminary squad for the 2005 Super 12 competition which includes former Ulster flanker Warren Brosnihan who was part of the Bulls Currie Cup winning side last October. The squad also includes South African greats Bakkies Botha, and Victor Matfield.

With the Celtic League matches suspended over the Six Nations period this game will give Ulster some vital match-practice ahead of their trip to Newport to play The Dragons on 18th February, while a week later The Bulls will travel to Ellis Park to play The Cats in the Super 12 2005 opening round.

This is the first time Ulster have welcomed a Super 12 team to Ravenhill and the match provides a mouth-watering opportunity to see Mark McCall’s men take on some of the best players in world rugby.
